Every Stand-person within a six hour drive of the Cape! One of the coolest things about being part of STAND this past year has been the road trips to support the cause whether as close as neighboring Harwich or as far away as New York City. In fact, back in February, a bunch of our kids took a road trip to Newton South to see State Radio play, and help NS raise over $20K to help Darfur. Now's your chance to have an awesome and purposeful road trip. On May 11th, with doors at 6:30 PM and the show starting at 7, we're holding the Darfur Battle of the Bands Cape Cod with overnine high schools participating from Bourne by the bridge to Nauset out on the arm. This show is going to rock; I know because I've seen almost all the bands--they're great. I'd say I can't believehigh school kids have this much musical talent, but I won't because it's just like the amazing talent we've seen all across this country as the youth of the Save Darfur movement--mainly in the formof STAND chapter members--have led the way in Darfur activism. The show is at the Mattacheese Middle School, which is off exit 7 on the Mid-Cape high way. Head south to Higgins Crowell Rd., follow a 1/4 mile to the rotary, where you go right, sticking w/Higgins Crowell. About 1 mile down on the right you will pass an elementary school on your left, then the Mattacheese Middle School driveway will on your left. If you get to the Yarmouth PoliceDepartment, you just missed the driveway.Tickets $10 at the door with proceeds to Doctors Without Borders and other Darfur charities. Also, while you're reading: hats off to Spenser Lawrence who has done an awesome job with this incredibly time-consuming job. You rule Spence--it's been a pleasure getting to know you thisyear. I've got your back bro' Recommendations for life, on me!Jeff HowellDennis-Yarmouth Regional High School.
